retrotrash: lost city of the damned by alec rivere (charles nuetzel)

charles nuetzel wrote this book in a week. sex on page one. murder on page two. sex on page three. the average paragraph is two sentences long.
"he was brutal and cruel--the way she liked a man."

"a shudder ran through her voluptuous form."

those are two typical paragraphs. there's good guys and bad guys, there's a virgin and a whore. things happen so fast you'll have a hard time keeping them straight. everybody has guns. everybody has sex. there's a lost city full of treasure and a statue that shoots a disintegrating beam from its eye. it might have something to do with atlantis or maybe aliens, but we never find out. nuetzel isn't trying to steal work from abraham merritt. half the characters are killed when the city collapses and the rest are decapitated by headhunters. the two survivors do it in the jungle and get away with the treasure.
